Diabetic Treatment

For the Patient on Insulin (IDDM)

In Type -1 diabetic on Insulin, herbal combinations are given with dose titration of insulin & the dose of the insulin is reduced after 6-8 months management with the cooperation of the patient, along with the improved quality of life & maintained sugar level.

If Type -2 diabetic is taking Insulin to maintain blood sugar level ,the dose of the insulin is reduced in initial 6-8 months management & with the cooperation of the patient it can be withdrawn gradually after this period with maintained blood sugar level patient can be switched over on oral medication (allopathic & herbal).

For the Patient on oral medicines (OHGA) (NIDDM) –

In Type -2 diabetic -Taking OHGA to maintain blood sugar level ,the dose of the OHGA is gradually reduced in initial 6-8 months management with herbal combinations ,& adverse effects of OHGA are also reduced .In due course of time patient can be switched over only on Herbal formulations with best control of Blood sugar level & other related problems.

For Gestational Diabetes (GDM) -

Herbal drugs with insulin is suggested
Close monitoring is done (by Regular pathological findings & obstetric ultrasonography) for the growth of Fetus & health of the mother.
After childbirth organic calcium & other minerals is given to maintain lactation & general health.

For Insulin Resistant and/or Insulinomas-

An Insulinoma is a tumour of the beta cells of pancreas that secretes insulin.

In contrast to normal condition, the secretion of insulin by Insulinomas is not appropriately regulated by glucose and insulin is continuously secreted by tumours causing glucose levels to fall further than normal.

As a result patients present with symptoms of low blood glucose (hypoglycemia), which are improved by eating. The diagnosis of an insulinoma is usually made through biochemical investigations with low blood glucose, elevated insulin and proinsulin and C-peptide levels and confirmed by localizing the tumour with medical imaging or angiography.

The definitive treatment is surgery along with supportive therapy that we provide through Ayurveda.
